Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information FFU Bot (“FFU Bot” or the “Bot”), a Discord bot, processes when you interact with it, how that information is used, and who it is shared with.
1. Information We Process
Using slash commands and features naturally sends some data to the Bot through Discord’s API. Depending on the feature used, this can include:
- Discord identifiers: your user ID, username, and the server/channel IDs where a command was run (needed to reply, and to know which server’s data to read/write).
- Command input: the options/values you supply to a command (e.g. a nation name, a game ID, a stat rating, blame reason text).
- Gameplay data: nation reservations, signups, templates, game history results, and player statistics you or a server administrator submit for HOI4-related features.
- Uploaded files:
.txtindustrial-capacity data files uploaded via/upload-filefor use with the graphing feature.
2. Message Logging
Some features rely on logging to operate correctly and to help us diagnose issues:
- The Bot keeps operational logs (general activity, errors, and debug information) to monitor uptime and troubleshoot problems.
- Certain moderation-related features may log or temporarily process message content/metadata in the channels where they are active, strictly to perform their function (e.g. detecting and acting on a message).
Logs are stored locally on the infrastructure we control, are not used for advertising or profiling, and are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for debugging and moderation purposes before being rotated or deleted.
3. What We Do NOT Do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share message content, command data, or logs with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies.
- We do not use your data for advertising or cross-service tracking.
Data collected by the Bot is used solely to operate and improve the Bot’s own features (e.g. showing your reservation, calculating balanced teams, displaying your stats).
4. Where Data Is Stored
Gameplay/configuration data (reservations, signups, templates, player statistics, game history, blame log) is stored in per-server configuration files and a local database on the infrastructure hosting the Bot. This data is scoped per Discord server and is used to power the corresponding in-server features and the optional web dashboard.
5. Third Parties
The only third party inherently involved is Discord, which transports all commands and messages between you and the Bot as part of using Discord itself — see Discord’s Privacy Policy for how Discord handles your data. We do not forward your data to any other third-party service.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
- Gameplay data (e.g. a nation reservation, a signup entry) is generally retained until the related game session is deleted/finished, or until removed by a server administrator.
- Reserve backup snapshots and game history are kept for record-keeping purposes and can be removed via the dashboard or relevant admin commands where available.
- Operational/debug logs are rotated and are not kept indefinitely.
- If you would like data associated with your Discord user ID removed, contact the server administrator, or reach out via the GitHub repository.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Bot is intended for use in accordance with Discord’s own minimum age requirements and is not directed at children under that age.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the Bot’s features. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
9. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy can be directed to the server/repository owner via the GitHub repository.
